Welcome to Funtastic Friday #124!
We plant a food garden every year but, one thing I haven’t really ventured into as much is decorative plants and flowers. We have quite a few different perennials planted by the previous owners over 10 years ago and I can’t imagine not having them. If the hostas, ferns, and a variety of ground cover weren’t already planted and established, I’m not sure I could have made the front garden area as pretty as I think it is now.
I wouldn’t have been confident enough to know what to plant when and where. Since the front garden is pretty much taken care of, I now realize I don’t need to have confidence and instead I just plant and see what happens. For example, I now know Iris’ don’t care what I do with them and could easily take over the world.
This brings me to my favorite at this week’s Funtastic Friday Link Party by Michele over at The Scrap Shoppe Blog. She made this gorgeous flower box from an old bee box. She shows us how to build the legs and really it couldn’t be anymore straightforward. I have no doubt you and I will be able to make this with her tutorial. Check it out!
